The is a grouped session, in a small number of 4 people maximum, so you will have my full attention to answer your questions and help you understand the right actions.

Welcome to the studio
Your experience begins with a coffee and an introduction to the world of flameworking. Kathryn and Maxime will show you around the studio, introduce the tools you’ll be working with and explain the essential safety principles for working with glass at the torch.
Your first glass forms
You’ll begin with a simple exercise designed to help you understand how glass behaves in the flame. As you learn to control the heat and your movements, you’ll create your first small glass form and discover how a simple change in pressure or movement can transform the material.
Colour, movement and shape
Once you have become familiar with the basics, you’ll start introducing coloured glass into your work. You’ll experiment with combining colours, stretching and shaping the molten glass, and creating different visual effects through movement and controlled deformation.
Exploring more intricate techniques
With the foundations in place, you’ll be introduced to more detailed techniques through demonstrations and guided practice. You’ll explore twisting, combining individual elements and adding decorative details to give your pieces greater complexity and character.
Create your own collection of sun catchers
You’ll then have the opportunity to put everything you have learned into practice, creating a collection of 5 to 6 individual hanging pieces. Choose your own combination of shapes, colours and details to create a series that feels cohesive while still giving each piece its own character.
Once your pieces are complete, they will be carefully annealed in our kiln to relieve internal stresses in the glass and ensure their stability. Once they have cooled and been checked, we’ll arrange a convenient time for you to return to the studio and collect your finished creations.

Le stage se déroule à l'atelier privé de Kathryn Greer, dans l'Essonne. Il est très facile d'accès, étant à 5min à pied de notre station de RER C, à Saint-Michel-sur-Orge.
Maxime découvre l'art du verre au chalumeau il y a plus de dix ans, grâce à Kathryn, dont la passion pour le verre fait rapidement partie de leur quotidien. Au fil des années, il développe son propre univers artistique en créant des billes de collection, où couleurs, motifs et lumière se rencontrent pour évoquer des paysages galactiques fascinants.
Aujourd'hui, Kathryn et Maxime travaillent côte à côte dans leur atelier lumineux et intimiste de Saint-Michel-sur-Orge, où ils donnent vie à des créations délicates et singulières tout en transmettant leur savoir-faire à de futurs artistes verriers.
